The Khanqah-e-Moula of Shāh-e-Hamadān (ra) was the first mosque built in 1395 Srinagar . Shāh-e-Hamadān (ra) used to offer his prayers daily on the banks of river Jhelum, at the same spot where the shrine now stands. The Khanqah-e-Moula in Kashmir has undergone ruination a couple of times.
In the year of 1480 AD the shrine being ruined in a devastating fire,
reconstructed
and restored by the then ruler Sultan Hassan Shah. In 1493
AD, Khanqah-e-Moula was
demolished and reconstructed in two-stories. In the year 1731 AD fire second time
struck leading to its
destruction and then renovation by Abul Barkat Khan.
The fire once again
broke
out early
on Wednesday
15th of November 2017 , damaging
the spire of the spiritual
structure
